Assessment of impact of tourism and recreational use

Within the project AlpNaTour the concept of the ecological risk analysis has been adopted to assess the risk of a deterioration of the conservation status of the protected habitats and species by tourism and recreational use.

Guidelines and recommandations

The main objective of the project has been to develop guidelines and checklists to facilitate the process of

management planning in areas used intensively by tourism and to promote the sustainable

development. The basic principles of this guideline are constituted by the experiences made in Natura

2000 test sites in Austria, Germany, Italy and Slovenia
