The Alpine Space area is characterized by regional economic and spatial disparities. The basic assumption of this project is that the promoting and supporting women’s active participation in the local economic development processes will contribute to achieving a more balanced sustainable development of the Alpine Space and to reducing the present disparities in living conditions of the alpine population. The project intends to support the development of common approaches and quality services in order to promote the skills and potential of women - especially those living in rural peri-alpine and disadvantaged alpine areas - thus promoting their participation in the different economic sectors. It also aims at developing a stable co-operation network among the Resource Centres for Women in the Alpine Space which, on a cross-sector and integrated basis, intend to continue working after the project’s conclusion, at promoting endogenous human and economic resources on a gender based approach.

It also aims at developing a stable co-operation network among the Resource Centres for Women in the Alpine Space which intends to continue working after the project’s conclusion. The final goal is to provide women with technical assistance and quality support in order to guarantee that they have equal access to local and regional resources by promoting co-operation among public and private local development actors on a gender based approach.
Achievements The expected achievements are as follows: - The possibility of accessing information; - The possibility of accessing resources; - The opportunity of creating a real individual professional development (thus broadening personal career choices and overcoming stereotypes and discrimination factors); - Strong co-operation and gender mainstreaming actions at institutional and socio-economic level. The main activities to be carried out by the partnership network are therefore the following ones: - Regional Operational Study: taking into consideration the strong disparities on a small scale in the project area by encouraging partners to collect data and information on best practices; - Developing a service network among “Resource Centres for Women” (RCW), thus aiming a strengthening the know-how present in the RCWs of the Alpine Space in order to examine together solutions, share tools, practices to adopt ant transfer to their respective territories (e.g. training, education for operators); - Territorial Pilot Actions, carried out by some partners across the intervention territories in order to monitor progress, compare the results and their transferability. - Gender Mainstreaming: collecting, processing and making some tools of horizontal mainstreaming transferable and building actions of vertical mainstreaming; - Information and Publicity activities: a crucial role is played by information and communication activities at a transnational and a local level.
