The aim of the ALPS-GPSQUAKENET is to build up a high-performance transnational space geodetic network of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers in the Alps.

This booklet describes the GAIN GPS network and the related possibilities to measure the continental deformation as well as the earthquake hazard in the Alps. The booklet contains also a description of the pilot projects (GPS linked respectively to meteorology, landslide monitoring and active vaults monitoring)
