On 27 April 2017, Alessandro Casasso from Politecnico di Torino presented a poster on the local-scale assessment of Near Surface Geothermal Energy (NSGE) in Cerkno at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly in Vienna.

GeoZs and ARPA Vda organised a discussion group in Ljubljana (Slovenia) on 22 February 2017. They discussed barriers and opportunities for Near Surface Geothermal Energy (NSGE). Lacks, inadequacies and overlapping legislation affecting the development of NSGE market in Slovenia were at the centre of the debate. Installers of heat pumps, drilling companies, Cerkno Municipality, University of Ljubljana, ECO fund, NSGE installation owners, and EURAC took part in the event.
