Aims of Workpackage 3: Operational criteria for the utilization of NSGE in the Alpine environment
The workpackage deals with relevant technical and operational criteria for shallow geothermal systems under the typical conditions of the Alpine environment. Best practice examples from existing plants were analyzed in order to derive a review of the most important technical and operational criteria for shallow geothermal installations of different kinds, with a transnational validity across the whole Alpine space.
WP3 was coordinated by GBA, while all the other involved partners were responsible for providing data from case studies in their respective countries and for contributing to the analysis of technical and operational criteria with a common method, agreed by all partners with GBA. TripleS monitored case studies. TUM performrf simulations of extrema to define thresholds for operational criteria and acquires data from case studies.
Deliverables of WP3
The catalogue is an internal document summarizing the different methods for the use of NSGE in the Alpine environment. It also includes technical schemes and facts of best practice case studies assessed in the participating countries
D3.1.1 - Best practices
Based on the analysis of the case studies, operational criteria and technical/environmental constraints for shallow geothermal plants will be summarized in a catalogue, which will serve as a reference for the activities of WP5 – Energy Plans and WP6 – User interaction.
This catalogue summarizes all relevant proven and estimated concepts for the use of geothermal methods in the Alpine environment. It represents a joint document available in all involved national languages. Before publishing it will be reviewed by WP6 – User interaction.
