Aims of Workpackage 4
This work package was devoted to the assessment and mapping of the Near-Surface Geothermal Energy (NSGE) potential, considered as the thermal load that can be sustainably exchanged with the ground by a geothermal heat pump. Ground and climate parameters and specific adopted technology were used as parameters for the assessment of NSGE potential.
Deliverables of Workpackage 4: Assessment and mapping of potential of NSGE
A web GIS map of the Near-Surface Geothermal Energy potential assessed at a large scale was published online (see Outputs), together with a reference guide explaining how the input data were collected, homogenized and processed.
D4.1.2 - Web-GIS of potential interferences to the installation of NSGE systems in the Alpine regions
The deliverable presents the work carried out in each Case Study Area by the relevant project partners, and it was the input for WP5 – Energy Plans to implement the Near-Surface Geothermal Energy in the energy planning procedures. The existing mathematical methods for the estimation of Near-Surface Geothermal Energy potential were reviewed and further developed, taking into account different shallow geothermal technologies.
D4.2.1 - Local-Scale Maps of the Near-Surface Geothermal Energy potential in the Case Studies
