Sustainable development of alpine open spaces by enhancing spatial planning governance

Capacity building seminar on open space planning for young professionals

22nd – 25th July 2021 in Salzburg (AT)

The Interreg Alpine Space project "OpenSpaceAlps" organised an international capacity building seminar on open space planning, which took place in Salzburg 22nd – 25th July 2021. The seminar brought together 21 young professionals (=  young people up to 35 years of age, working in spatial or sectoral planning practice as well as advanced students) from different alpine countries and regions, who had the opportunity to enhance their competences in the field of (regional) open space planning and to discuss current (transnational) issues and land-use conflicts.

Different (keynote) presentations, interactive workshops and excursions dealt with specific skills, tools and instruments with the aim to identify relevant open spaces, analyse their functions and provide for legal safeguarding. The project partners also benefited from the ideas and suggestions of the highly motivated and committed young professionals. The seminar played an important role in encouraging young planning professionals to participate in the AlpPlan Alpine spatial planning network.

You can find all presentations on this website as part of the seminar documentation. They can be downloaded as PDF-files.
