Les Orres was involved in the ALPSTAR Alpine Space project, a successful experience of energy consumption reduction of the resort’s operations through the deployment of an Energy Management System resulting in a 20% reduction of energy consumption, 25% energy costs, and over 7% GHG emissions.

This first action constitutes the foundation for a global energy optimization approach towards smart energy management (demand response, smart grid, renewables). Les Orres brings direct experience of user-centric design, user acceptance, public awareness and local engagement. Les Orres is part of the FLEXGRID initiative that seeks to develop and industrialize smart applications for energy management in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, alongside EDF and other industrial and territàrial partners. The “Département des Hautes-Alpes” and “Communauté de Communes de Serre-Ponçon” are associated to the initiative.

Located in the Gorenjska region, Krvavec is the most visited ski resort in Slovenia. RTC Krvavec's strategy is to become attractive to all visitors in winter, as well as during the summer season. It is the nearest ski resort to an international airport in Europe. RTC Krvavec cooperates with the municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem and BSC Kranj on issues of infrastructure management (including land use), development, marketing strategy and territorial attractiveness.

FBK is a no profit research institution subsidized by the Province of Trento conducting interdisciplinary research in information technologies as well as in other areas of sciences, technologies and humanities. AEM is a network of local and regional authorities representing the specificities of European mountain ranges toward the European institutions. Our members include ski resorts and regional authorities with ski resorts on their territories. Either through direct members or its member associations, the AEM gathers 12,000 municipalities, 100 provinces and departments and around 40 regions. AEM supports local and regional mountainous authorities in their territorial development strategies by promoting their assets. AEM has been, in the last 10 years partner in European projects, and often in charge of the communication and the diffusion of the projects results to the EU institutions and relevant stakeholders.

The section Man and Environment - Settlements within the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research (ÖAW/IGF) has expertise in spatial analysis and cultural landscape development in mountain regions. It has special competences in web-based GIS and wiki development, cartography and visualisation of spatial data, and data harmonisation and interpretation. Researchers of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research have led two EU projects (DIAMONT and mountain.TRIP), participated in others (e.g. AlpES and WIKIAlps), and collaborated in COST Action Renewable Energy and Landscape Quality (RELY).

S2i has a vast experience in community building, foresight, roadmapping and outreach activities.

Following S2i core competences will be of particular relevance for the knowledge transfer activities to be conducted within the project: Support to companies, municipalities and regional authorities, in implementing cross-border innovative projects related to energy and low carbon emissions solutions for sustainable development;  assistance in technology transfer and in exploitation of projects results (scientific, social and economic) by defining exploitation strategies, business models and plans; facilitation of networking at international and regional levels between the economic sector (in particular SMEs) and other stakeholders.

CREM has been created by the City of Martigny and the EPFL to accompany local authorities and more generally territories in their energy and environmental transition. It accompanies local authorities and companies towards energy efficiency, renewable energy production and CO2 emissions reduction. Its competences focus on the management of energy fluxes (electricity, heat, water) and energy demand. The CREM also has a strong expertise in territorial energy planning. As an association, the CREM got several members (Cities, Cantons, industries) facilitating the replication of the project’s results.
